When is an Ecologist required?
An Ecologist may be required to prepare reports or advice that you require for development approval or consent conditions.
A Council, Certifier or other Consent Authority may require that you engage an Ecologist to produce reports or advice for any development on a property that contains, native vegetation, native trees, or is adjacent to native vegetation (e.g. National Parks, bushland reserves, wildlife corridors, coastal protection areas).
Sometimes a proposed development site has been historically cleared, however, regulators may still request that you commission an Ecologist to assess indirect impacts upon adjoining areas.
An Ecologist can be commissioned to prepare the following reports:
to assess vegetation clearing, tree removal or other direct/indirect impacts of your development.
You may also be required to engage an Ecologist to prepare the following reports:
