Land Eco Consulting is delighted to announce we are part of the ASPECT Studios led team which will design the green heart for Bradfield City Centre in Western Sydney.
Australia's newest city!
Our team’s proposal for a city park that embodies the natural beauty of the Cumberland Plain has been selected as the winner of a design competition for the project.
The park will give form to the identity of Bradfield as it develops in tandem with Western Sydney International Airport, providing a place of respite and recreation for an emerging community.
Announced by the NSW Western Parkland City Authority, the winning scheme was designed by ASPECT Studios, architects Collins and Turner Architects, cultural consultant and Baramadagal woman of Dharug Country Jayne Christian, curatorial collaborator Emily McDaniel from the Wiradjuri Nation, artist Janet Laurence, structural engineers Eckersley O'Callaghan and lighting designer Steensen Varming.

Ecologist for Bradfield Park City Centre Landscape Design Project in Western Sydney Aerotropolis
Land Eco Consulting helped our Byron Shire Council submit a development application (DA), to the Northern Regional Planning Panel of NSW.
The approved Byron Bay Bioenergy Facility will be constructed within the existing Byron Bay Sewage Treatment Facility and is a first of its kind in Australia. It will involve anaerobic digestion which is cleaner than conventional bioenergy facilities. When operating it will generate 24/7 dispatchable and controllable renewable energy 365 days a year. Approximately 4 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity. The equivalent of powering 267 households per year. Enough renewable energy to power the facility itself, and the Byron Bay Sewage Treatment Plant. Any excess would be available for dispatch back into the grid. A nutrient-rich, low-carbon compost by-product for local farmland and small growers.
Land Eco prepared the Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) for this unique and Australian first project. Part of the process required our expert Ecologists to undertake targeted surveys for threatened fauna/flora 'species credit' species that were predicted to occur on the site. Land Eco carried-out surveys using best practice guidelines and confirmed the absence of several locally important threatened 'species credits' confirming that the development is suitable for the location and should proceed without risk of significant impact to threatened species or ecological communities.
Land Eco assisted in devising the landscape planting and re-vegetation planting selections along with the biodiversity impact mitigation strategies to ensure the project is delivered in a sustainable and biodiversity-friendly manner.

Land Eco Consulting helped our client Vivacity Property develop and construct Stratford Gardens a major retirement village in south-western Sydney.
Stratford Gardens provide much-needed housing and residential aged care facilities including over 200 seniors living dwellings proposed for the 11.4-hectare site at Tahmoor – located 95 kilometres south-west of Sydney CBD.
Land Eco prepared the Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) for this exciting project. Part of the process required our expert Ecologists to undertake targeted surveys for threatened fauna/flora 'species credit' species that were predicted to occur.
Land Eco carried-out surveys using best practice guidelines and confirmed the absence of several predicted threatened 'species credits' saving the applicant over $2 million in biodiversity offset costs by averting the need for species credits.

Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) for DA - large retirement village in western Sydne
Land Eco Consulting prepared the Biodiversity Development Assessment Report (BDAR) to meet the requirements of a State Significant Development (SSD) for 'The Angophora' at 57-61 Archer Street & 34 Albert Avenue, Chatswood, New South Wales, Australia.
The Angophora is an award winning design that blends heritage-inspired architecture with ecological design excellence. The design features a texturally rich brick podium that respects its historic neighbors while maximizing natural light and ventilation for residents. In a collaborative effort with Landscape Designer Land and Form and Town Planner Mecone, Architect Carter Williamson have prioritised 'Designing with Country' and the activation of public spaces through art.
The natural landscape will compliment native biodiversity, with 80% comprised of indigenous flora species representative of Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest in the planting schedule and extensive deep-soil zones designed to enhance the urban tree canopy and provide serene, green communal spaces.
This SSD was approved by NSW Department of Planning in November 2025.
